My First Father's Day!

Today I have the privilege of celebrating my first father's day as a father.  Last year I half way celebrated while Katy was pregnant but this year is the real deal.  I am the father of an 11 month old little boy and it has truly changed my world.

Here are some things I have learned in my first year as a father.

I learned how much you can communicate without talking.

Being a parent is much more than a full time job.

A welcome home smile from your child brightens even the toughest of days.

I learned that singing to a crying baby makes me feel better in the process.

Humans are born with a desire to learn.  (A whole separate blog post for this.)

Your children are watching your every move.

A giggling baby makes everyone smile.

I learned consistency and routine are much more important than we realize.

Fatherly instincts exist and should be put to use.

TV, smartphones, and social media are much less entertaining than crawling under the coffee table with your child!

My parents loved me a whole lot more than I thought they did and more than I ever could have imagined!

Being a Father is one of the greatest responsibilities a man will ever have.  We must not take it lightly men!

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there!
